Very fun video! You're managing to slowly convert me into playing all of your old opening repetoires. Have an awesome day :)
PLEASE MAKE 1000 MORE VIDEOS
The only reason i signed up for chess.com, was to watch dannys videos. XD
Danny my man, that was an epic game! Interesting postmortem too... that's some good own analysis. The best chess.com video author does it again - with the amount of effort and precision you put into your calculation you are an easy future GM
Ah now I understand what you mean. Thanks for the clarification. Also thanks for all the great videos. Keep up the good work.
I guess it's my fault for not being clear:
I never meant the average rating. I meant that the Standard ratings for Titled Players are severely deflated. Because titled players don't want to play standard . They want to play bullet and blitz, so there isn't a pool of players to "gain rating points from" in standard.
What I was looking at is the stats page, when I click on people it shows me an average of 1163 in standard and 1138 in blitz. I am wondering whether the rating are maybe just not spread out as much as in blitz or bullet or maybe it is all inactive players pulling up the rating average or there is some reason why your rating is lower than it should be like the big show or it is just a combination of these factors. For myself my standard rating is 1650 and my blitz is 1500, where my blitz rating is much more accurate. I hope I didn't offend you, if so I am sorry. I know your standard rating isn't close to being accurate I am just wondering whether that is true for the majority of the players on chess.com.
Um, not sure what ratings you're looking at tardisisis -- BUT yeah, I'm sure.
My rating in blitz (2350) and bullet (2500) are pretty accurate. My standard rating is 1800... Only a small difference I guess...
Are you sure about the deflated ratings? Because it seems to me like the average rating in standard is higher then both blitz and bullet.
The ratings for Standard in Live Chess are severely deflated. We are working on improving it...
How is your rating only in the 1800s? Are you sandbagging on your own server lol? Seriously though, what accounts for that?

@Attack198842 -- Yeah, technique is a tricky thing ... I don't know if we have a TON of videos on the pure points of the subject, which is kind of why I went on my little speech in the last Live Session video.
I think GM Khachiyan's videos are great on showing examples of converting small advantages, even though he doesn't always classify them as "principles of technique".
Have you see the Principal of Two Weaknesses video series? That might help your mindset as well...
Thanks for the video now i have better ideas in future

IM Daniel Rensch
After missing a complicated tactical shot from his opponent right out of the opening, IM Danny Rensch finds himself relying on accurate calculation and the "hope" of a better dynamic future for his pieces! If this kingside pawns can get rolling, and the Bishop Pair gets trolling, look out! Does he find enough to justify his early miscalculations? Watch and find out...
